FlyingRC I2C External Current Meter

An external I2C current and voltage sensor for flight controllers. It uses an INA226 sensor so ArduPilot/PX4 systems can read battery voltage and current from an external module instead of relying on an onboard analog current sensor.

Setup / wiring notes

  • For ArduPilot, set BATT_MONITOR = 21 for INA2xx/INA226.
  • Set BATT_I2C_ADDR = 64 and BATT_SHUNT = 0.0003, then reboot the flight controller.
  • If current or voltage is not detected, try BATT_I2C_BUS = 0 or 1 because firmware bus numbering may differ from the physical I2C label.

Check before use

  • When soldering XT60 wires, fully insert the connector and avoid touching nearby components with the iron tip.
  • Verify I2C bus selection and reboot after each parameter change.
